Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own celebration cake. A cakeage fee of $100 per cake applies. Decorations are welcome too, as long as they won’t damage the venue. That means no glitter, no confetti, and nothing adhesive that could stick to or damage the furniture or walls. If you’re unsure about something, our events team is happy to help.

Yes. We host corporate lunches, client events, seminars and team celebrations. Screens and AV are available, and both half-day and full-day options can be quoted.

Yes. Rooftop Exclusive includes AV and two large screens, and Strand West, Strand Corner and Kennedy Side each have a screen. They suit sports viewing, presentations, speeches and slideshows.

Yes, we offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-friendly options. Please let staff know your requirements

We recommend booking a minimum of 4–8 weeks ahead, and earlier for Friday and Saturday nights, the Christmas season and big sporting events.

Our function spaces hold anywhere from 20 to 180 guests, with up to 150 seated on an exclusive rooftop booking. For larger events, talk to our team about what’s possible.

Yes, the rooftop is fully accessible, with a lift inside the venue. If any of your guests have specific access needs, let our events team know and we’ll make sure everything is set up for them.

No. There’s no room hire fee at The Beach Hotel. Pricing is based on the food and drinks you choose, and a minimum spend applies depending on the space, day and time.

Yes, there’s street parking on The Strand and along Kennedy Street, right next to the venue. Parking on The Strand can fill up on weekends and event days, so we recommend arriving a little early or organising a rideshare for your guests.

You can choose from:

• Drinks package: three hours of house beverages at a set price per person.
• Bar tab: set a limit and pay on consumption. As a guide, allow around $25 per person.
• Cash bar: guests buy their own drinks.

Yes, the rooftop is fully covered, so your function goes ahead rain or shine. Glass bifold doors can be closed in wet or windy weather, and because they’re glass, you keep the view over The Strand and out to Magnetic Island. It’s a great all-season function venue in Townsville.

We host birthday parties, engagement parties, weddings, corporate events, Christmas parties, EOFY celebrations, hens and bucks parties, baby showers, private dining, seminars and meetings, and wakes. Whether it’s a casual catch-up or a full rooftop takeover, our events team will tailor the space and package to suit.
